Regarding nuclear power, how many would it take, for example NC already has four. I’m all for nuclear but safety concerns need to be addressed as well. In Connecticut some people tested soil in neighboring areas and they said it was higher than normal. Feel it’s accurate but don’t know. Regarding AI, if going all in there does need to be guardrails if humanity is still to have jobs and purpose.

Nuclear power is our only future after oil and gas are used up. I do not know if it will be fission or fusion, but we will work out the details of safety and disposal. We should start now so we can save remaining oil for mobile machinery like farm tractors, construction yellow gear, and transportation vehicles in remote areas. That has been my position for 60 of my 80 years, and I'm sticking with it.

The answer is NO. There are literally thousands of tons of undisposed waste spread across America and it was Congress's job to find a safe disposal site.
